Course Outline

This course aims to provide participants with basic metrological concepts and practical knowledge in liquid and gas fluid flow measurement and calibration, general meter types and their applications and the key aspects of flow measurement & calibration techniques. The course covers:

  • Fluid flow measurement principles

  • Fluid properties & flow phenomena

  • Type of meter & selection (eg.Turbine meters, Vortex meters, Magnetic meters, Coriolis mass meters, Critical flow, Ultrasonic meters)

  • Installation effects

  • Traceability & calibration

  • Measurement uncertainty

  • Report of measurement & calibration results
