Metrology Upgrading Programme - Practical RF & Microwave Measurement

Course Outline

This course aims to provide participants with the technical knowledge and skills in practical radio frequency (RF) and microwave measurements.  Starting with the overview of the fundamentals of RF and microwave calibration in concepts followed by the skills of connectors checking and pin depth measurement which are the essential skills to prepare the calibration.  Then the practical calibrations covering the most commonly used equipment will be included, such as oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyser and one port and two port measurements with a vector network analyser. Practical measurements and calibrations of equipment will provide course participants a good understanding of traceability, uncertainty evaluation and calculations.
