In this seminar, Prof Dou Wenbin will introduce Southeast
University, College of Information Science and Engineering (former
Department of Radio Engineering) and the State Key Laboratory of
Millimetre Waves. The presentation will provide details on the
accurate measurement of complex permittivity of dielectric material
based on Quasi-optical open cavity technique at millimetre waves, as
well as introduce the measurement of complex permittivity of material
at microwaves using strip line technique. Finally some work on
antennas, radomes and imaging will be presented.
About the Speaker
Prof Dou Wenbin graduated from University of
Science and Technology of China, Hefei, in 1978. He received Master’s
and PhD degrees from University of Electronic Science and Technology of
China, Chengdu, in 1983 and 1987, both in Electronics and
Communications. From 1987 to 1989, he worked in Southeast University as
postdoctoral fellow. Since 1989, he is with the Department of Radio
Engineering, Southeast University. In 1994, he was promoted to
professor. He is vice director of State Key Laboratory of Millimetre
waves (SKL of MMW). His research interests include millimetre wave and
sub-millimetre wave quasi-optics, focal imaging, antennas and
scattering, binary diffractive optics, ferrite devices, and so on. He
had completed many projects on millimetre waves and sub-millimetre waves
from State Ministries and Foundation and now is in charge of some key
projects. He has published over 100 technical papers in journals. Two
books on millimetre wave ferrite devices and quasi-opticaltechniques
have been published in 1996 and 2000, respectively, and the book on
millimetre wave quasi-optics was republished in 2006 after some
revision and supplements.
