Metrology Upgrading Programme - Radio Frequency and Microwave Metrology


Course Outline

This course covers the fundamentals of radio frequency (RF) and microwave metrology for high frequency measurements and calibrations. The aim of this course is to provide participants with the basic concepts and practical knowledge in RF and microwave measurements. The course will cover: introduction to calibration and measurement traceability and uncertainty; RF and microwave power measurements; calibration of RF and microwave power sensors and practices; and the fundamentals of scattering parameters and vector network analyser for reflection and transmission measurements. Practical measurements and calibrations of equipment will be included to provide course participants a good understanding of traceability, uncertainty evaluation and calculations.
