There are many different principles and techniques for the analysis
of gases. Physical factors such as gas flow, temperature and pressure
have an influence on the measurement results, and suitable reference
standards with proper traceability have to be used for calibration.
These are important factors to be considered to ensure that suitable
measurement equipment and method are used, and measurement results are
accurate, traceable and reliable. This course aims to impart knowledge
on the basics of proper gas measurements to industry participants, and
raise their awareness on potential sources of errors in gas

2. Compatibility of equipment used in gas measurements
3. Static methods for the preparations of gas standards
4. Dynamic methods for the preparations gas standards
5. Calculating the uncertainties
6. Methods of gas analysis
7. The importance of gas sampling methods
8. Uncertainty budget for gas analysis
9. Traceability, quality management system and issuance of certificates
The course will be useful for management and technical staff working
in testing and calibration laboratories and gas industrial sectors.
Introduction to chemical metrology, fundamental
principles in gas metrology, gas standards and gas measurements,
preparation of gas standards by static and dynamic methods and
calculation of the uncertainties for gas standards preparations
Different methods of gas analysis, calibration
of gas analyzers, the importance of gas sampling methods, application of
dilution systems, uncertainty budget for gas analysis, traceability,
quality management system and issuance of certificates
