This course aims to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge in microwave attenuation and phase noise measurements techniques. The practical sessions will cover microwave attenuation measurement using voltage-ratio based system and phase noise measurement system using phase detector & delay line discriminator method. Measurement uncertainty analysis for these measurements will be introduced. This course will provide a good understanding of measurement traceability and uncertainty evaluation in calibration.
Dr. Thomas Wu is a metrologist at the RF/Microwave Lab in National Metrology Centre (NMC). Dr Wu has developed Singapore’s metrology standards for microwave/millimeter-wave attenuation and phase noise. He also conducted industrial training courses on microwave measurement and uncertainty evaluation. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and has 20 years of experiences. Dr Wu is a Technical Assessor for Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) and a member of the SAC Proficiency Testing Technical Committee. He has also been involved in developing NMC’s Measurement Assurance Program since 2012 to provide metrology training and Proficiency Testing for the industry.

Course Fee & Registration
The course fee is $390.00 +GST.
To register for the course, please send the signed registration form to email@example.com at least two weeks before the course date.
Mode of Payment
Payment is required on registration confirmation. Crossed cheques should be made payable to “SCEI-NMC”. Payment can also be made by credit card and NETS.
If a registrant is unable to attend, another candidate may replace him/her. A 50% refund will be made only for withdrawals received in writing at least five days before the commencement of the course. If a registrant is unable to attend the course due to sickness, medical certificate needs to be submitted to NMC before a refund can be granted. NMC reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course. In the event of cancellation, registration fees will be refunded in full.
