[Media Release] A*STAR Expands Measurement Programme to Raise Industry Standards at World Metrology Day

A*STAR’s National Metrology Centre (NMC) commemorates World Metrology Day by announcing new measurement upgrading initiatives for industries to attain international accreditation standards and improve productivity. NMC also highlights the importance of measurement in meeting global energy challenges.

Singapore—A*STAR’s National Metrology Centre (NMC) has announced its plan to expand its series of measurement Proficiency Tests and metrology training courses, enabling more industries to leverage on NMC’s expertise to attain international accreditation in measurement services. NMC also announced its new capabilities for sustainable energy through primary solar photovoltaic (PV) and light-emitting diode (LED) measurement, ensuring the quality and safety of solar PV and LED products. The new initiatives were announced at the World Metrology Day conference in Singapore, which commemorates the Metre Convention of 1875, a historical agreement that set the framework for global collaboration in measurement science and its application for society, trade and industry.
