Early cancer diagnosis: The use of Raman spectroscopy in leading-edge biosensor development

In a relatively short span of time, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) has become a powerful tool in the development of innovative high-sensitivity biosensors capable of detecting and measuring cancer biomarkers at the earliest possible stage.

A pioneer in the field of SERS-based biosensor research, Singapore Bioimaging Consortium (SBIC) used Renishaw's inVia™ confocal Raman microscope to support this ground-breaking work.

2018, France-Singapore Year of Innovation Initiative
Prof. Frédérique Vidal, French Minister of Research, Higher Education and Innovation has visited Singapore January 21-23, 2018 to launch the “2018, France-Singapore Year of Innovation” initiative. In the International Year of Light, IYL (http://www.light2015.org/Home.html), realizing the importance of photonics (light-based) technologies in biomedical diagnostics, Prof. Malini Olivo and Dr. U. S. Dinish co-edited a book titled “'Frontiers in Biophotonics for Translational Medicine”. The book was published by Springer on 4 July 2015.
