TAN Sze Yen
Senior Research Fellow
Sze Yen is a qualified dietitian and he completed his PhD degree at the University of Wollongong, Australia in 2010. His PhD thesis focused on dietary manipulations and weight management, with an emphasis on human energy metabolism. After his PhD, he was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship and worked in the Ingestive Behavior Research Center at Purdue University (Indiana, USA) for three years. Following the post-doctoral training, he accepted a position as a Lecturer at the University of South Australia and taught for 2 years prior to joining the Clinical Nutrition Research Centre in Singapore.
His research interests include the modulation of 1) human energy expenditure and substrate oxidation, 2) human appetite and food intake, and 3) body weight and fat mass through various dietary strategies.
