SIgN-NTU-NUS Immunology PhD Program 

The call for August 2021 applications is open:

The Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) A*STAR, School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) & the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, National University of Singapore (NUS) has launched a new joint PhD research program in “Immune Regulation, Human Immunology and Bioinformatics”. 

PhD scholarships will be granted for 4 years and successful scholars will be supervised by a Principal Investigator or Professor based at SIgN, the NTU, the NUS, or jointly co-supervised between institutes. The research projects can be carried out at either one of these institutes. PhD degrees will be awarded by the NTU or NUS.

The core PhD thesis project curriculum will fall within the fields of Immune Regulation, Human Immunology and Bioinformatics. Successful students must present an annual progress report on their research work to the Program Board. All students will be required to fulfil the PhD coursework requirements of their respective home universities (NTU or NUS).

Two scholarship schemes are available for this program:

A. International students: Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) (click here for more information)
B. Local students: A*STAR Graduate Scholarship (AGS) (click here for more information)

Eligibility criteria include:

  • MSc. or BSc. (Honours degree, II upper class minimum) in the Life Sciences
  • Passion for research (experience in immunology is an advantage)
  • Excellent academic results
  • Good recommendation from academic referees
  • Proficiency in English


Local applicants must hold Singapore Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
