SIMTech received the WSQ Distinguished Partner accolade in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the development and expansion of Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) system.
Dr Lim Ser Yong received the award from Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean.
The WSQ was launched as a national competency-based skills development and certification system by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency.
To date, SIMTech has six WSQ Programmes at the specialist and graduate diploma levels for competency development in the areas of precision engineering, high-mix-low volume, precision measurements and characterisation, medtech manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing and SME manufacturing excellence. These aim to equip professionals, managers, executives and technicians as well as new entrants with relevant skills to migrate into high-value manufacturing in the respective industries.
