About the Speakers
Dr John Gan Oon Peenis SIMTech Research Scientist and Group Manager, Manufacturing Execution and Control. His research interests include intelligent control for discrete systems, stochastic optimisation, discrete events system modelling, data mining and industrial control. He has also completed several RFID feasibility studies, including RFID for Air Cargo Tracking. He also serves as a technical member of the National RFID Centre. Prior to joining SIMTech, he was a researcher with the Centre for Process System Engineering, Imperial College London.

Dr Zhang Neng Sheng is SIMTech Research Scientist. He has more than 15 years of experience in knowledge-based systems and enterprise information systems development. He has initiated numerous key projects, including the blackboard-based integration framework, Object-oriented Rule-based Inference Tool Kit for C++(ORIT++TM), QuickMouldTM, Enterprise management/execution information system(iPROMISETM) and Enterprise-centric IT(EPC-IT), Intelligent Color Calibration System (ICCSTM), intelligent dispensing system, tracking process modelling, etc. He was seconded to a local company as Chief Scientist for 2 years in May 2003 under the T-Up (Technology for Enterprise Capabilities Upgrading) programme. His research interests include global supply chain visibility, enterprise business process re-engineering, tracking process based on RFID, artificial intelligence, information modelling and enterprise knowledge management.

Mr He Wei is SIMTech Senior Research Engineer. He received his Master of Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore in 1997. He began his engineering career at ASM Technology Singapore in 1997 and joined SIMTech since August 1999. His research interests include Supply Chain Track & Trace (based on EPCglobal RFID and GPS), RFID data/information management, RFID security and PDM/PLM/ERP. One of his RFID projects is about secure and real-time RFID-based track and trace information management in EPCglobal-enabled supply chains. Mr He Wei has published numerous papers and completed several industrial projects in SIMTech. Besides his involvement in several industrial projects at SIMTech, he has completed his secondment to IDSC Pte Ltd under the T-Up (Technology for Enterprise Capabilities Upgrading) Initiative.

Mr Sun Jian Ping is SIMTech Senior Research Engineer. He has more than 20 years of R&D experience in software development, CAD/CAM integration, product design, process planning and product information management. He was formerly employed as an academic staff of Shanghai University of Engineering Science Department from 1984 to 1992. In 1989, he worked as a software engineer in Industrial Technology Information Institute in Tokyo. He joined Seksun Precision Engineering and Shinluck International based in Singapore from 1992 to 1996 as Chief Engineer. He has also been involved in reverse engineering and product design for local industries and civil defence organisation pertinent to medical devices, domestic products and high precision engineering.
