In conjunction with the seminar, there will a poster exhibition showcasing new product concepts generated from SIMTech's technologies by the undergraduates from the Division of Industrial Design, School of Design and Environment, national University of Singapore (NUS). In total, 13 selected concepts will be on display. Special Awards and certificates will also be presented to the students during the seminar.

Dr Jenny Ang is the Section Head of Product Innovation and Development (PID) Section of SIMTech. The mission of PID is to assist SIMTech in new product innovation using SIMTech technologies. Jenny has many years of working experience in product and medical device design and development. Her current focus is to assist in commercialisation of SIMTech technology and development of technology-driven new product design methodology.
Paul Wormald is an Associate Professor in the Division of Industrial Design at National University of Singapore. He is an enthusiastic and experienced (20 years) design educator. Paul has collaborated with many companies in the UK, Europe, Singapore and Hong Kong, including Guinness, Procter & Gamble, Land Rover, OSIM, Decathlon, OCBC Bank, Mars Inc, Cadbury, Kenwood, and the BBC. Paul's research is focused on design education and practice, especially 'front-end' industrial design activities and design's role in strategic innovation.
Dr Chua Beng Wah is a Scientist in the Forming Technology group at SIMTech. His R&D work is in the area of casting, liquid forging of non-ferrous alloys as well as powder processing of nanostructured materials. Currently, he is responsible for the translation of the research output in the area of metal forming and liquid melt processes for industrial engagement and adoption. He is also the principal investigator for the liquid forging technology commercialisation.
Dr Albert Lu is Programme Manager and Senior Scientist with the Large Area Processing Programme at SIMTech. He currently leads a multi-disciplinary research team on disruptive manufacturing processes and game changing multi-functional integration for functional films and printed electronics. He was the recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science in Singapore, and the Institution of Electrical Engineers Prize in United Kingdom.
Dr Liu Wei is a Senior Scientist in SIMTech. His research areas cover RF and wireless technologies and applications. He was working in Philips as Architecture Design Manager/ Chief Engineer for Philips TV product development. He was also working in Stoval Technology as R&D manager for RFID/ smart card technology development.
Ms Woo Kwai Merngis the Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Executive Vice President of the Science and Engineering Commercialisation Division at Exploit Technologies, overseeing the commercialisation and technology and business incubation in the areas of Infocomm & Technology; Engineering & Manufacturing; and Materials, Chemicals and Electronics. She also functions as the project CEO overseeing promising technologies, a role that sees her nurturing scientists and enhancing the value of selected technologies as part of the process of preparing these technologies for commercial adoption.
