Co-organised by SAGA Instruments, this seminar is designed to generate awareness of cutting-edge environment simulation techniques and solutions for accelerated weathering test. Participants will gain a better understanding of the basics of how factors of weather such as solar radiation, heat, and moisture affect materials and how well various testing technologies simulate natural conditions. Simulation of natural conditions is critical in material service life prediction. Key topics include the effect of weather factors on materials; climatological information/the effects of climate on weathering factors; static outdoor weathering, behind glass exposure studies, special projects and other test applications; accelerated solar exposures (EMMAQUA test method); artificial weathering methods (carbon arc, fluorescent and xenon arc light sources); specific test applications; other light sources for special applications; examples of correlation studies and test design criteria; and some examples of correlation studies/test design criteria.
About the Speaker
Mr Craig Hazzard has worked in the field of natural and accelerated weathering for over 10 years with Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC. He has worked with many companies worldwide, from global major automotive companies to small and medium-sized paint, additives, and polymer companies, helping them develop and understand better testing techniques and test methods for service life prediction and long term reliability.
