Technology Lecture: Diagnostics and Predictive Techniques for Health Assessment

Date: 01 Jul 2009 - 01 Jul 2009

Venue: SIMTech Training Rooms, Level 3, Tower Block

Abstract
Health monitoring of process, products and equipment are critical for sustaining near-zero breakdown performance and transforming the traditional maintenance practices from "fail and fix " to "predict and prevent" methodology. The latest predictive, diagnostics and prognostics techniques together with case studies on the applications of intelligent embedded decision support tools for health monitoring will be presented.
This event is co-organised by Nanyang Technological University, School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

About the Speaker
Mr Mohamed AbuAli is a PhD candidate at the Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems (IMS) at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He is currently leading research projects with several companies including Toyota, Nissan and Omron. His field of research is in developing decision-making models for reduction in energy consumption in industrial facilities that can effectively relate to and minimise equipment downtime and energy costs. He has a BSc in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona and a MSc in Industrial Engineering from the American University in Cairo. He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) and a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
