Workshop on Machine Vibration, Analysis and Reduction Techniques

Date: 26 Nov 2008 - 26 Nov 2008

Venue: SIMTech Training Room 1, Level 3

Suppressing unwanted vibration is one of the critical issues in developing precision machinery and equipment, especially high-speed and ultra-precision machines. As conventional strength-based structural design and analysis approaches become inadequate to tackle this issue, there is a great need for precision machines to be designed for structural compatibility and vibration minimisation. This one-day workshop is specifically designed to enhance the working knowledge of the participants and provide them with lab demonstrations on structural analysis and vibration testing. With industrial examples, the workshop will cover both fundamental concepts and advanced issues related to mechanical vibration, vibration testing and instrumentation, finite element structural analysis, and vibration control techniques.
