Workshop on Precious Metal Plating and the Environment

Date: 18 Nov 2008 - 18 Nov 2008

Venue: SIMTech Seminar Room, Level 1, Valley Block

This workshop is part of the 49th Symposium on Surface Engineering for Industrial Applications (SEIA 2008).  Scope of the workshop includes the trends and current developments in the plating of precious metals with special focus on the relevant environmental legislations and the impact on the industrial operations.
Participants will gain a broader understanding of how the industry currently deals with using potentially hazardous precious metal plating processes, environmental risks in precious metal plating, the legislative drivers for improvements and new technologies; reclamation / refining / recycling methods and opportunities as well as the alternative environmentally firendly precious metal processes.
