Networked Supervisory Control: Sensor and Wireless Communications in Machine Monitoring and Control

Date: 15 Jul 2008 - 19 Aug 2008

Venue: Training Room (Tower Block, Level 3)

Course Introduction
This course will provide technical exposure to the concepts, methods, and best practices in Wireless Sensor Network, standard protocols, emerging sensing technologies for networked supervisory control and RFID architecture.  Principal topics that will be covered include object oriented analysis and architectural patterns. We will also characterize the state-of-the-art wireless networks including MAC layer protocol, Zig-Bee and Wireless Sensor for machine monitoring.

Case studies and assignment will be an integral part of the course.  They would be able to make optimal architectural choices and employ the most relevant methods, best practices, and technologies for architecting and implementing a product, regardless of its complexity and scale.
