This workshop is jointly organised by Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), Imperial College London (IC) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The main objectives of the workshop are to bring together researchers and developers from academia and industry working in the field of metamaterials to explore opportunities for possible collaboration. To that end, eight experts from around the world have been invited to ensure that the International Joint Workshop on Metamaterials will be the foremost place to learn about the most important developments and potential of this emerging technology.
Metamaterials are a new class of ordered composites that exhibit superior properties that are not found in nature and not observed in the constituent materials. In recent years, these artificial materials with their simultaneously negative permittivity and permeability properties have attracted widespread interest, which lead to the development of design procedures and the realization of novice types of microwave, millimeter-wave, and optical components and devices.
This one-day workshop will address a wide area of research topics related to metamaterials, artificial electromagnetic materials and surfaces in the microwave and optical ranges. Technology innovators from the international research community will be invited to speak at this inaugural event.
