Vibration Troubleshooting and Improvement for Machine Structure Dynamics

Suppressing unwanted vibration is one of the critical issues in developing precision machinery and equipment, especially in high-speed and ultra-precision machines. As conventional strength-based structural design and analysis approaches become inadequate to tackle this issue, there is a great need for precision machines to be designed for structural compatibility and vibration minimisation. This one-day workshop is specifically designed to enhance the working knowledge of the participants and provide them with lab demonstrations on structural analysis and vibration testing. The workshop will cover both the fundamental concepts and advanced issues related to mechanical vibration, vibration testing and instrumentation, finite element structural analysis, and vibration control techniques, with industrial examples.
