Annual Manufacturing Forum 2013

Manufacturing Technologies: the next 20 years and beyond

In the next 20 years and beyond, manufacturing is poised to go digital, enabling larger degree of customisation, requiring lesser labour input, and shortening the time scale across the whole value chain.  This shift towards digital manufacturing will create innovative new business models and further accelerate the pace of change in the manufacturing industry.  Companies have to keep abreast of the rapidly evolving manufacturing trends, and be highly adaptive and strategically networked to maintain their competitive edge.

Are you prepared to ride this wave of manufacturing evolution?

Hear our invited speakers delineate emerging trends and their impact on the future of manufacturing.

Prof Irene Ng (Professor of Marketing and Service System, University of Warwick, UK) will be presenting a lecture on the impact of digitisation on manufacturing, design and delivery of products in their “incomplete” form.

Dr Rainer Bischoff (Head of KUKA’s Technology Development Department, Germany) will be sharing new insights on the opportunities and challenges in the deployment of robots to enhance productivity in the factories of the future.

Mr Chester Karwatowski (Chief Technology Officer, Supplier Connection and Senior Technical Staff Member, IBM, USA) will be discussing on how IT technology drivers such as social media, cloud, big data and analytics are affecting manufacturing enterprises and their supply chains.

Other internationally acclaimed experts will also be on hand to share their expertise in advances in manufacturing technologies and emerging innovative technologies (3D additive manufacturing, bio-printing, micro- and nano-moulding of functional surfaces, modelling-assisted design, metrology using X-ray computed tomography, and fabrication and maintenance of large parts).

Be prepared.  Join us at the 8th SIMTech Annual Manufacturing Forum 2013 (AMF’13) on 23 October 2013 (Wednesday) at Biopolis Singapore.  Stay informed of the evolving manufacturing trends and cutting edge technologies, and seize the vast opportunities in manufacturing and product innovation.

This event is qualified for 5 PDUs (Professional Development Units) by PEB (Professional Engineers Board).

Welcome Address by Dr Lim Ser Yong, Executive Director, SIMTech
