Microsystem Technology Symposium
Date: 14 Sep 2006 - 14 Sep 2006
Venue: Auditorium, Level 3, Tower Block, SIMTech, 71 Nanyang Drive
Tremendous progress has been made in the development of microfluidic components and modules that have significant market potential in chemical and biomedical applications. To fully exploit the microscale phenomena, large-scale integration of micro components and modules is necessary. SIMTech hosted Prof Nico de Rooij from the Institute of Microtechnology (IMT), University of Neuchatel, Switzerland under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Visiting Investigator Programme (VIP). The objective of this programme is to develop re-configurable microsystem integration platform which will facilitate cost effective integration of microfluidic components, micro sensors and actuators, and electronic components. This symposium will provide information to the research community and industries in Singapore on the international progress in this exciting area of research. Recent developments in this research programme at SIMTech and the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) will also be presented.
