Polymer materials characterisation and test techniques are important to raw material suppliers, compounding companies, component manufacturers, as well as process machinery manufacturers. As demand for quality in the polymer industry increases, product designers, engineers, technicians and machine operators require better understanding of processing and application properties of polymeric materials. In this workshop, advanced polymer characterisation and test techniques will be introduced. The workshop will focus on applications and processing properties of polymer materials and their test methods. Participants will gain better understanding of polymer materials and their processing characteristics which will help companies move up to high value-added production.
Dr Zhao Jianhong (Research Scientist), Dr Lau Soo Khim (Research Scientist) & Dr Liu Songlin (Senior Research Engineer)
About the Speakers
Drs Zhao Jianhong, Lau Soo Khim and Liu Songlin are researchers working in the areas of polymer materials and process engineering, focusing on high precision moulding technologies and development of process technologies for high performance and functional polymers such as nanocomposites and biopolymers. The team has initiated and successfully completed a number of research and industrial projects in micro-, optic lens and two-shot moulding, and development of nanocomposites, biopolymers, and laser effective polymer compounds. With strong capabilities and technologies developed for moulding processes and material development, the team is working on polymer for high precision, high demanding and high value added products, which include micro components, photonic and medical devices, as well as applications in the automotive and aerospace industries.
