Distributed Simulation in Industry: Status and Perspectivess

Date: 30 Oct 2004 - 30 Oct 2004

Venue: SIMTech, Auditorium, Tower Block, Level 3

This seminar discusses the status of distributed simulation in industry from the viewpoint of the methods and tools represented by commercial off-the-shelf simulation packages (CSP). Examples of distributed simulation approaches are given. Additionally, an example of two successful "side-effect" innovations that directly arose from the development of a distributed simulation is presented. The seminar maintains that although there are still challenges to solve in the development of beneficial CSP-based distributed simulation, the pursuit of this from the wider perspective of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be of substantial benefit to practitioners of simulation modelling.

Who Should Attend

This seminar is for Computer and Industrial Engineering Professionals as well as the Academia and Researchers. Speaker - Dr Simon J E Taylor, Centre for Applied Simulation Modelling, Brunel University, London, UK
