This seminar is designed to introduce the latest development in microwave materials processing, focusing on metal and ceramic sintering and joining which are expanding applications in powder processing technologies for precision engineering, automotive, and aerospace industries. Keynote speaker Professor Dinesh K Agrawal from USA will introduce the most recently developed technologies in microwave materials processing which is clean, environmental friendly, highly productive and energy saving. This seminar will benefit participants from local industry and research community to learn not only the technologies from leading researchers in microwave materials processing but also the global trends of metal/ceramic sintering and joining technologies.
About the Speakers
Dr Dinesh Agrawal is Professor of Engineering Science & Mechanics, Senior Scientist, and Director of Microwave Processing and Engineering Center, The Pennsylvania State University.
He got his master degrees in Physics and Materials Science from Banaras Hindu University and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, respectively; and PhD from Pennsylvania State University. Dr Agrawal has been working in diverse areas for over 30 years including microwave processing of materials, sintering phenomena, synthesis, characterization & fabrication of materials, low thermal expansion materials, sol-gel synthesis, phosphor chemistry, rad-waste management, etc.
Dr Agrawal has been internationally recognized as leading scientist in the field of microwave materials processing. He has given over 200 invited and keynote lectures in industry, academia and technical meetings all over the world. Dr Agrawal was honored for contribution to ceramic research by World Academy of Ceramics for inducting him in the Academy. He is a Fellow of American Ceramic Society. He has over 300 publications and 21 patents to his credit.
Mr Kenneth K G TAN is Technical Director of Dawnyx Technology Sdn. Bhd. He got his master degree in Environmental Engineering and bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from University Technology of Malaysia. He devoted over 13 years to R&D focuses on industrial microwave processing for metal, ceramics and others. Since the company was founded in 2007, he is working on industrial and laboratory microwave system marketing in Southeast Asia region. He is also developing innovative microwave processing for metal and ceramics as well as food and herbal producers in Malaysia. He has given several invited talks on this field in Malaysia, Singapore, China and Japan.
