Introduction:

Dr. Ko Jeong Hoon is currently a scientist in SIMTech. He is an expert in machining mechanics and dynamics, cutting process and tooling optimization, machine tool dynamic analysis, chatter theory, feed rate scheduling algorithm, ultrasonic vibration assisted machining, modeling and simulation and receptance coupling. He has been appreciated by industries regarding the successful implementation of the machining optimization & vibration solver for high productivity. He has been also Alexander von Humboldt research fellow from Germany after post-doctoral research under supervision of Prof. Y. Altintas, UBC, Canada. He also worked in Automotive Mechatronics Center, Postech, S.Korea. He has published over 50 academic articles in area of machining mechanics, dynamics, virtual simulation, ultrasonic milling process and so on, which have been cited by over 300 articles. He is also currently an editorial board member of the Scientific World Journal ( IF = 1.730, 2012).  

He owns several patents including US/Korea Patents on feed rate optimization and has commercialized industry-oriented machining simulation software modules such as plunge, multi-insert boring, and drilling module in CutPro, Canada, and also Dynacut, Singapore. His previous collaboration industries/institutes include automotive, electronics, aerospace, machine tools, toolings, die/mold base, oil & gas  and so on.
Research Interest:Multi-scale machining mechanics and dynamics, process induced vibrations, modeling and simulations/optimizations, ultrasonic vibration assisted machining, spindle/tooling dynamics, ultra-precision machining, remanufacturing and so on.
