Introduction:Dr Li Tao obtained his first and Master degree from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Shandong Light Industry Institute (SLII) in 1997 & Materials Science, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2002 respectively. Before he came to Singapore, he worked as a Senior Associate Engineer in Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), involved in the work of quality control. He graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NUS (under a NUS scholarship as well as attachment in SIMTech) with a PhD degree - studying the abnormal grain growth of tungsten carbide with small amount of cobalt.  He subsequently joined SIMTech as a Senior Research Officer. Presently, he is working on powder metallurgy and powder injection moulding of advanced metal and ceramic materials, and tape casting of thin film ceramic/composite materials.
Research Interest:Powder metallurgy and powder injection moulding (PIM) of advanced metal and ceramic materials, and tape casting process for thin film ceramic/composite materials.
