NEW Openings in SIMTech – Microfluidics for Diagnostics Applications


Position 1 (4 vacancies):

Research Fellow

Description:

Work in a research team to develop microfluidics chips/devices for diagnostics applications, including conceptual design, fluid manipulation, bio-reaction and detection.

Requirements:

· PhD in Microfluidics with strong background in mechanical engineering or electrical/electronics engineering or materials

· Research experiences in microfluidics chip and/or instrumentation design will be an added advantage

 

Position 2 (2 vacancies):

Research Fellow

Description:

Work in a research team to develop microfluidics based bio-assays for one of the applications for metabolite detection, protein detection or nucleic acid detection including sample preparation.

Requirements:

· PhD in chemistry or biochemistry or other disciplines

· Research experiences in microfluidics applications, especially in assay development, gel electrophoresis, PCR for microfluidics will be an added advantage

 

Position 3 (2 vacancies):

Research Fellow

Description:

Work in a research team to develop microfluidics chip and devices for diagnostics applications, focus on signal amplification and/or sensing and/or optical detection module development

Requirements:

· PhD in mechanical/electronics/materials engineering or physics/biochemistry, specialized in optical design, bio-signal amplification, or electrochemistry/biochemistry topics

· Research experiences in detection module detection or chemilluminant sensing/Quantum dot application would be an added advantage

 

Position 4 (2 vacancies):

Research Fellow

Description:

Work in a research team to develop microfluidics based bio-assays for one of the applications for metabolite detection, protein detection or nucleic acid detection.

Position 5 (2 vacancies):

Research Fellow

Description:

Work in a research team to develop manufacturing techniques for microfluidics devices, specifically for micro-/nano structure formation, polymer bonding or Ni plating.

Requirements:

· PhD in mechanical/materials/chemical engineering with relevant experiences. Experience for microfluidics applications will be an added advantage

 

 

Position 6 (4 vacancies):

Research Engineer

Description:

· Work in a research team to assist in design, fabrication, testing and characterization of microfluidics chips for point of care diagnostics applications

Requirements:

· Master's / Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering disciplines. Related experience would be an added advantage.

 

 

Position 7 (3 vacancies):

Research Engineer

Description:

· Work in a research team to conduct design and testing of microfluidics system for point of care diagnostics

Requirements:

· Master's / Bachelor's Degree in engineering with experience in one of the following aspects: mechanical design, electrical design, optical design, and/or GUI development.

 

Position 8 (3 vacancies):

Research Engineer

Description:

· Work in a research team to assist the bio-assay development/evaluation, testing and characterization of various function modules as well as microfluidics chips/systems for diagnostics applications

Requirements:

· Master's / Bachelor's Degree in chemistry and/or bioengineering/bio-science /bio-medical.

· Experience in handling bio-samples and related instruments such as PCR, Nano-drop, gel electrophoresis, etc. for metabolite, protein, and nucleic acid analysis are preferred.

 

Position 9 (2 vacancies):

Research Engineer

Description:

· Work in a research team to assist fabrication process development for microfluidics chip including micro-structure formation, bonding, reagent placement, etc, as well as in polymer chip fabrication.

Requirements:

· Master's / Bachelor's Degree in mechanical/materials or other engineering disciplines. Experience in polymer microfluidics chip fabrication is an added advantage.

 

Position 10 (1 vacancy):

Programmer

Description:

· Work in a research team to develop a software platform for design of microfluidics chips.

Requirements:

· BSc or Master Degree in computer science or mechanical engineering with programing experience for software development built on other CAD software such as Solidworks.

 

 

Position 11 (1 vacancy):

Specialist

Description:

· Work in a research team to assist the bio-assay evaluation, testing and characterization of microfluidics chips/systems for diagnostics applications

Requirements:

· Diploma in chemistry and/or bioengineering/bio-science /bio-medical engineering. Experience in handling bio-samples and related instruments such as PCR, Nano-drop, gel electrophoresis, etc. for metabolite, protein, and nucleic acid analysis are preferred.
