Collaborative Industrial Project (CIP):

Smart Urban Logistics Planning and Tracking for Technology and Operation Innovation

Smart Urban Logistics Planning and Tracking for Technology and Operation Innovation

Introduction

Companies often encounter several common logistics challenges that can hamper their operations and lead to increased costs. These challenges include a lack of visibility throughout the entire inventory and delivery process, reliance on manual operations that can result in error-prone data capture, and suboptimal logistic planning that leads to low vehicle utilization. These issues exert significant pressure on companies in terms of profitability and workforce management. In order to address these challenges, companies are actively seeking a unified and flexible solution that can streamline their logistics processes and effectively resolve these issues.

Effective logistics planning and tracking play a vital role in the success and profitability of companies. By leveraging advanced logistics planning and tracking technology, companies can unlock numerous benefits, including cost reduction, improved customer satisfaction, enhanced operational efficiency, optimised inventory management, and a competitive advantage in the market.

This course aims to provide companies with a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts, knowledge, and technologies pertaining to logistic planning and tracking. It encompasses in-depth discussions on various aspects, including inventory management and tracking, delivery operations, and route and allocation optimization. Additionally, the course incorporates practical applications, case studies, and hands-on exercises to reinforce learning.

In addition to classroom training sessions, the course also offers valuable onsite training session. During the session, participants have the opportunity to identify pain points and gaps within their own companies’ daily operations. Through the collaborative discussion, possible solutions are explored and discussed, ultimately leading to the development of a proposal for a follow-up action plan.

Our ultimate goal for this course is to inspire and drive improvement, innovation, and digitalisation within companies’ logistics operations and processes in Singapore. By equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and tools, we strive to empower companies to optimise their logistics practices and embrace the advancements of the digital era.
