Equipment Maintenance for I4

The Fourth Industrial Revolution, or Industry 4.0, leverages on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to automate the collection and communication of data in near real time. In the area of equipment maintenance, manufacturers can benefit from real-time visibility and insight of the health condition of their equipment, thereby enabling them to embark on a paradigm shift from practising fixed schedule preventive maintenance to condition-based predictive maintenance that pre-empts unplanned equipment breakdowns for which corrective maintenance would have to be conducted. This inevitably incur higher cost of repairs and longer period to equipment recovery, and ultimately leading to greater loss of line and factory productivity.

For this 2-day MasterClass, participants will work on a predictive equipment maintenance use case at SIMTech’s production environment. Participants will also get to experience and practise their newly-acquired knowledge at the Model Factory@SIMTech that allows for experiential experimentation and learning of manufacturing system technologies, during the hand-on practical sessions.
