Official Launch of SIMTech-Entegris Joint Lab
The Agency for Science, Technology and Research’s (A*STAR) Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and Entegris Asia Pte Ltd have established a joint research laboratory to explore new product design capabilities and expand market opportunities in additive manufacturing (AM). Entegris is a global supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for high-technology industries.
The SIMTech-Entegris Joint Lab Signing Ceremony was held in SIMTech on 30 September 2020. The research collaboration agreement was signed by Dr David Low, Executive Director of A*STAR’s SIMTech and Dr Montray Leavy, Deputy Chief Technology Officer of Entegris Asia. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Prof Alfred Huan, Assistant Chief Executive of A*STAR (Science & Engineering Research Council) and Dr Ho Chaw Sing, Managing Director of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC).
The joint research laboratory was officially launched and announced on the NAMIC Global Additive Manufacturing Summit on 21 October 2020, which was held in conjunction with the Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC (ITAP) 2020.
The AM joint research laboratory will serve as a technology centre for Entegris in Singapore. A*STAR’s wide-ranging capabilities in Industry 4.0 technologies, coupled with Entegris’ deep knowledge of advanced materials and process solutions, will strengthen Entegris’ competitive position and expand opportunities to pivot into new markets and new products.
