Ashok Belani is Senior Strategic Advisor at SLB, a position he assumed in April 2022.

Belani held the position of Executive Vice President New Energy over the years 2019 till 2022, where he was responsible for the development and deployment of differentiated technologies addressing new avenues of growth in emerging New Energy markets. He led the ideation and formation of this new business group to position SLB as a leader in the Energy Transition and to develop a diversified portfolio of business in Clean Energy for the company.

Prior to that assignment, Belani served from 2011to 2019 as Executive Vice President Technology, w here he was responsible for global Research, Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology Lifecycle Management, Software Technology, and Information Technology. For the last 14 years, since its establishment, he also managed the corporate venture department for SLB.

Belani joined Schlumberger as a field engineer in 1980 and worked for 10 years in different field positions in operations, line management and sales. He then transferred to Techno logy and Product Development and held the position of Chief Technology Officer. He also held the position of Chief Information Officer of Schlumberger Limited. During his term as CIO and CTO he led the development of the Digital Technology Framework (DELPHI) of SLB, resulting in the most differentiated digital offering in the industry .

Between 2000 and 2005, Belani was President of the Schlumberger semiconductor equipment business in California, where he led a leveraged buyout to a private equity firm, listed the company on Nasdaq as CEO, and then sold it to Credence Systems.

Belani studied electrical engineering in India and holds a graduate degree in petroleum engineering from Stanford University.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Gentari, a global New Energy firm affiliated with Petronas, and on the Boards of Enervenue, an innovative battery storage technology company, and Gradiant Systems, a water solutions company. He is also a member of the Board of A *STAR, the governing agency for all science and technology for the Government of Singapore.
