IMCB-BTI Alumni Get-Together 2026

Exploring Diverse Career Journeys

A*STAR Global Network (A*GN) recently brought together IMCB and BTI alumni on 19 August 2026, alongside current staff, for an evening of conversation, connection and community.

The IMCB-BTI Alumni Get-Together provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with former colleagues and peers, meet current staff, and build new connections across the wider A*STAR community.

A highlight of the evening was a fireside chat exploring the diverse roles and career journeys that alumni have pursued across industry and academia.

The session featured Dr Rosemary Tan, CEO of Leyden Labs Asia, and Prof Too-Heng Phon, Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The conversation was moderated by Dr Wong Han Teng, Senior Assistant Director, Strategy & Planning at A*STAR IMCB.

Through their experiences, the speakers shared perspectives on navigating different career paths, the opportunities and challenges that come with career transitions, and the experiences that have shaped their professional journeys beyond the institutes.

An Evening to Reconnect

Beyond the fireside chat, the evening created plenty of space for informal conversations and catching up. Over a dinner buffet and free-flow drinks at the open bar, alumni and current staff had the chance to reconnect with familiar faces, meet members of the community they had not previously crossed paths with, and exchange experiences across different stages of their careers.

For some, it was a chance to revisit old connections. For others, it was an opportunity to make new ones. The relaxed setting allowed conversations to continue well beyond the formal program, bringing together members of the IMCB-BTI community in a more informal setting.

As alumni move across different organizations, industries and stages of their careers, A*GN provides a platform for them to stay connected to A*STAR and to one another. Events such as the IMCB-BTI Alumni Get-Together create opportunities for alumni and current staff to share experiences, exchange perspectives and strengthen relationships across the A*STAR community.

A*GN thanks all alumni, speakers, moderator and current staff who joined us and contributed to a meaningful evening of connection and exchange. We look forward to creating more opportunities for our community to reconnect, share and grow together!
