Venture Creation and Growth’s (VCG) Portfolio Management team serves a strategic role as the steward of A*STAR’s deep-tech venture portfolio, ensuring that world-class science evolves into globally investible enterprises delivering both economic and societal returns.

Since 2011, over 240 spin-offs have been launched, collectively raising more than S$1.5 billion in follow-on funding. The portfolio continues to mature, with more companies advancing to Series B and beyond, alongside a growing number of IPOs and exits. Notably, MiRXES became A*STAR’s first Biotech unicorn, while Curiox and MetaOptics achieved successful listings — the latter as the world’s first pure-play metalens company. Other high-growth ventures such as Lucence, Auristone, Augmentus and Respiree have made significant regulatory and commercial strides.
