A*STAR- JTC & SINGTEL SIGN MOU TO BRING 5G TO MANUFACTURING

A*STAR's Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC)- JTC and Singtel have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop Industry 4.0 solutions based on 5G technology. 

The three parties are integrating 5G technology into A*STAR’s Model Factory @ ARTC in the Jurong Innovation District (JID) to drive digital transformation in the manufacturing sector. At ARTC- businesses can explore how 5G could be combined with digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT)- artificial intelligence and robotics to create innovative solutions that could help them operate more efficiently. The team will develop and conduct 5G use case trials with members of the ARTC consortium and develop manufacturing solutions using 5G- including those in the areas of advanced manufacturing- industrial logistics and autonomous vehicles. The 5G pilot network at ARTC will help accelerate the commercialisation of 5G technology and its adoption by manufacturers in Singapore.
