A*STAR Researchers Among the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds

Ten A*STAR researchers are among the world’s most influential in fields like Chemistry, Engineering, Immunology, Materials Science, Molecular Biology and Genetics, according to the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Group. Seven were also recognised for their cross-disciplinary work, a testament to A*STAR’s multi-disciplinary approach and strong collaborative research and innovation environment.

The Web of Science Group’s Highly Cited list is based on a survey of highly cited papers published during 2008 to 2018. The list identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1 per cent by citations for their field and year of publication, demonstrating significant research influence among their peers.

Mr Frederick Chew, Chief Executive Officer of A*STAR, said, “We are honoured that our researchers have been recognised for scientific excellence, and for their contributions towards advancing and inspiring scientific discovery. I was especially pleased to learn that several of them were acknowledged for their cross-field R&D. This underscores A*STAR’s teamwork approach towards research and innovation, which we need to transfer and translate R&D to meaningful outcomes for Singapore.”

Congratulations to A*STAR’s highly cited researchers for 2019!
