    Minister of State Dr Koh Poh Koon Visit to A*STAR’s SIMTech

    On 23 March 2017- Dr Koh Poh Koon- Minister of State for Trade & Industry- visited A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) for a preview of the Model Factories initiative announced during the Committee of Supply debates.

    The Model Factories are designed to enable the industry to understand how they can leverage advanced manufacturing technologies to transform their operations- as well as to encourage the industry to adopt these technologies.

    The visit included a demonstration of the Manufacturing Control Tower (MCT) technologies developed under the Model Factory initiative. These technologies aim to enable companies to digitalise their operations and have comprehensive visibility for timely business decision-making. SME partner CKE Manufacturing- one of the pilot adopters of these technologies- shared their insights on how the adoption of these technologies have benefitted the company.
