    Speed to Market: Helping enterprises A*ccelerate the translation of R&D into economic outcomes

    Probiotic beer- negotiation AI bots and smart wearables were some of the exciting solutions on display at the latest Innovation & Enterprise event- A*CCELERATE NOW on 9 November 2018.

    The event attracted over 400 entrepreneurs- investors- and industry representatives keen to sniff out how they too could benefit from working with A*ccelerate to accelerate technology productisation.

    In attendance was Guest-of-Honour- Dr Koh Poh Koon- Senior Minister of State- Ministry of Trade and Industry- to oversee the event and launch the rebranding of A*STAR’s commercialiastion arm- ETPL- to Accelerate Technologies Pte Ltd (A*ccelerate). The rebrand marks a new chapter for A*STAR in delivering impact from research and innovation. A*ccelerate will continue its shift towards accelerating value capture through collaborative innovation and enterprise engagement and play a major role in translating intellectual capital from A*STAR researchers to industry.

    SMS Koh highlighted three roles that A*ccelerate will need to deliver in supporting A*STAR researchers from lab to market- supporting local enterprises in innovation and in nurturing innovation and enterprise talent in Singapore. He also expressed his hope for Innovation & Enterprise Organisations (IEOs) like A*ccelerate to lead the way forward and strive to become one of the top commercialisation offices in the world- and create greater impact for our economy and society.
