    Meeting with CEOs from German High-Tech Companies

    CEOs from 18 leading German High-Tech Companies were in Singapore as part of the delegation led by Chancellor Mrs Angela Merkel- on June 01- 2011. The business delegation including CEOs of BASF- Eurocopter- Siemens and Infineon- led by Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal ministry of Economics and Technology- Mr Han-Joachim Otto (2nd from right) met with A*STAR representatives led by Executive Director of Science and Engineering Research Council- Dr Raj Thampuran (1st from left) at the MTI Boardroom at the Treasury. The visitors were given a presentation on how A*STAR assists industries in establishing R&D in Singapore. Later that evening- A*STAR Chairman also meet with the German delegation at the official dinner held at the Istana. A*STAR has strong S&T partnership with German research organisations and industry. Both sides were committed to push for more exchanges and collaborations as the Asian economy continues to expand.
