    Visit by the State Councillor of the People’s Republic of China- His Excellency Meng Jianzhu

    The Chinese State Councillor who is also in charge of Public Security- H.E. Meng Jianzhu (孟建柱) was in Singapore on invitation by the Ministry of Home Affairs- on February 18- 2011. His visit in A*STAR was hosted by Deputy Managing Director Mr Teoh Yong Sea. State Councillor Meng led a 33-member delegation accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore who found out more about Singapore’s strategies in public R&D and our efforts in turning research outcome into products and services.

    During the 45-min visit held in Genome Institute of Singapore- he was given an A*STAR overview and tour the GIS sequencing lab and the Biopolis Shared Facilities.
