Qifrost Spins Out of A*STAR Q.InC to Commercialise Quantum Hardware

We are proud to announce the spin-out of Qifrost (Qifrost Quantum Technologies Pte. Ltd.) from Q.InC, marking a significant milestone in translating deep-tech research into deployable quantum hardware.

Qifrost builds on foundational research in quantum materials, fabrication, and systems engineering developed at Q.InC.

Dr Leo Krivitskiy, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Qifrost, and Senior Principal Scientist at Q.InC, leads the scientific direction, while Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Eric Cao leads commercialisation, operations, and international partnerships.

Dr Leo Krivitskiy shared that Q.InC has built a strong foundation spanning materials, fabrication, and systems engineering capabilities, validated at a national laboratory scale. Qifrost will build on this foundation to deliver solutions for the next generation of quantum technologies.

Eric Cao emphasised that the company’s focus extends beyond research to delivering reliable hardware at scale, supported by robust and scalable supply chains. The next wave of quantum advancement will be defined by those who can successfully build and deploy the underlying hardware, an ambition that Qifrost is committed to advancing.

Qifrost will bring two product lines to market. The first is a wafer-scale quantum sensing platform designed for applications in defence, healthcare, precision agriculture, and GPS-denied navigation. The second is a cryo-CMOS multiplexed control electronics architecture aimed at maintaining stable control costs as quantum computers scale towards fault tolerance.

This spin-out reflects Q.InC’s broader mission to translate foundational quantum research into commercial outcomes and industrial capabilities for Singapore. Qifrost joins a growing ecosystem of quantum companies supported by the National Quantum Strategy and A*STAR’s commercialisation pathways.

We extend our appreciation to our Chief Quantum Scientist, Professor Lam Ping Koy, for his leadership of the national quantum research programme, as well as to our research team, partners, and founding supporters for their continued collaboration with Qifrost in translating research into manufacturable and deployable technologies.
