Mr Haryanto Tan

Mr Haryanto Tan is the Assistant Chief Executive, Infrastructure, at A*STAR. He drives integrated infrastructure planning, development and operations, and implements strategic infrastructure initiatives aligned with A*STAR’s evolving research priorities and dynamic operating environment, enabling world-class collaborative research and innovation and sustainable impact in the long-term. He is currently spearheading a long-term space and infrastructure masterplan to refresh A*STAR’s R&D facilities to be future-ready and fit-for-purpose to serve A*STAR’s R&D missions for the next bound.

Mr Tan was formerly Assistant Chief Executive, Policy Plans & Infrastructure (PPI), where he coordinated the rollout of A*STAR’s Research Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2025 initiatives and plans. Under his leadership, he enabled tighter alignment between A*STAR’s long-term strategic plans and national RIE priorities, and enhanced the coordination and strategic coherence of existing and upcoming programmes, including A*STAR's long-term infrastructure renewal.

Prior to A*STAR, Mr Tan held various roles in the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). In his last position as Head of Advanced Manufacturing, he was instrumental in driving the formulation of strategy, policy and plans for Singapore’s advanced manufacturing transformation. He also held an appointment in the Public Sector Science and Technology Policy and Planning Office (S&TPPO) under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), where he advised on the formulation of the public sector Robotics and Automation roadmap.

Mr Tan is an EDB-GlaxoSmithKline scholar who graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science (First Class Honours) from the University of California, Berkeleyand attained his Master of Science in Management Sciences from Stanford University.
