Celebrating Mentorship Excellence: STAR Mentor Award 2024

At IMCB, mentorship is at the heart of scientific excellence, nurturing the next generation of researchers and leaders. This year, we are proud to announce that several of our distinguished investigators have been recognized at the STAR Mentor Award 2024, a prestigious award that celebrates outstanding contributions to fostering mentorship within the research community.
The STAR Mentor Award is part of A*STAR’s initiative to acknowledge and inspire excellence in mentorship, which plays a pivotal role in transferring knowledge, building skills, and driving innovation. This year’s theme, "Fostering Excellence: Organisational Growth through Mentorship," focused on how effective mentorship strengthens leadership pipelines and advances the success of both individuals and organizations.

The award ceremony, held during the A*STAR Mentorship Conference 2024, was graced by A*STAR's Chief Executive Frederick Chew and featured insightful discussions on cultivating a sustainable mentoring culture. Prof. Ivy Ng, Senior Advisor at SingHealth Board, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of mentorship in driving organizational excellence and innovation.
As part of the event, the A*STAR Mentor Club was also launched to create a supportive network for mentors across the institution, fostering a community of shared experiences and insights.
IMCB remains deeply committed to cultivating a culture of mentorship that not only strengthens our research community but also contributes to the growth of science in Singapore and beyond.
