IMPACT (IMCB Post-docs Achieving Collaborations Together), previously known as the Student Postdoc Association (SPA), aims to foster a vibrant community of postdoctoral researchers and scientists at IMCB, with a renewed focus on professional growth, community engagement, and collaborative success. IMPACT builds on the foundation set by SPA. Outgoing chairperson, Lele Wu, focused on supporting events such as the popular Friday Happy Hour, PhD Student Seminar series, and the annual IMCB Retreat. These events have provided valuable platforms for IMCB’s postdocs and scientists to network, develop professionally, and share scientific insights.

The new leadership team, under co-chairs Ser Zheng and Vindhya Chaganty with Treasurer Yuri Frosi and Secretary Leow Yi Ning, aims to broaden its range of activities to address the diverse needs of IMCB’s postdoctoral community. Key focus areas include:

• Professional Development: Continued efforts to provide skill-building workshops, mentorship programs, and opportunities for interaction with industry and academia.
• Community Engagement: Strengthening bonds among members through networking events and opportunities for scientists and post-docs to interact.
• Collaborative Opportunities: Expanding partnerships within IMCB and beyond to support researchers in gaining valuable insights and building their professional networks.

IMCB is supportive of IMPACT’s meaningful contributions in fostering engagement, collaboration, and achievement. With our growing network of postdoctoral researchers and scientists, IMPACT is set to enrich our community with new opportunities and success.
