Dr. Radoslaw Sobota received his PhD (Dr.rer.nat.) from RWTH-Aachen (2007) in Germany.  His thesis was focused on negative regulation of cytokine signal transduction and acute phase response. During the stay at RWTH he already developed his interested in application of mass spectrometry based proteomics in signal transduction studies. In 2008 he joined Centre for Experimental Bioinformatics (CEBI) group at University of Southern Denmark in Odense (Denmark) and continued his scientific carrier together with Prof. Jens Andersen.  During his postdoctoral training in Odense he was involved in industrial collaborations with Danish companies (innovative consortia comprising Danish biotech companies and academic partners) aiming identification of surface membrane biomarkers expressed differentially by antigen presenting cells. In 2012 he had moved to Singapore and joined Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) at A*STAR where he applied cutting edge mass spectrometry based proteomics in advanced immunology. In July 2014 he moved to Systems Structural Biology laboratory at IMCB A*STAR to build new, projects oriented Joint Functional Proteomics Laboratory (IMB/NTU/IMCB) where he implemented, among broad variety of other MS- based expertise, pipeline for MS-based proteome wide drug targets screening (MS-CETSA). In 2015 his expertise was in the field of applied proteomics was recognised and he was awarded with Young Investigator Grant (YIG2015 BMRC) to study protein state specific drug targets recognition. Later the same year he received another grant as A*STAR Co-investigator NMRC/MOH IAF Cat2 Grant “MS-CETSA platform - for drug discovery” to establish, based on his expertise, mass spectrometry based proteome wide drugs target screening platform. Since 2018 he is heading Functional Proteomics Laboratory Group at IMCB, in 2019 his laboratory was awarded with National Research Foundation (NRF-SIS) grant as a founding member of Mass spectrometry National Laboratory (SingMass) in Singapore together with National University of Singapore. He is a member of steering committee and board of directors.
