Lab Location: #8-08 Email: syaw@imcb.a-star.edu.sg Tel: 65869718 Sherry Aw studied Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) and received her PhD from Harvard Medical School (USA), advised by Prof. Michael Levin. She then returned to Singapore to carry out postdoctoral training with Prof Stephen Cohen at the IMCB. She started her research group at the IMCB in 2017. Her interests lie in understanding roles for RNA, in particular microRNA, in neurodegeneration and movement disorders, and exploiting RNA biology to develop translational technologies based on novel functional RNA molecules, for disease diagnosis and therapeutics. Dr. Aw is a recipient of scholarships from the Economic Development Board and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). She is a co-inventor on two patents, and was awarded the L'Oréal-UNESCO Singapore For Women in Science National Fellowship in Life Sciences (2017), and the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Fellowship (2019).
