Autonomous Manufacturing

Autonomous Manufacturing

Autonomous manufacturing leverages technologies in digital manufacturing, robotics and automation to support total visibility and control, as well as smart decision-making at both enterprise and shopfloor levels. It also improves productivity by streamlining manufacturing processes and automating previously manual processes.

Distributed Smart Value Chain

The right mix of automation and analytics, coupled with information and communication are key to decision makers in a value chain. This is what A*STAR’s Distributed Smart Value Chain (DSVC) sets out to do.

DSVC seeks to support decentralised decision-making across companies by facilitating partial information sharing and enabling flexible shopfloors, supported by relevant software, algorithms, and smart manufacturing platform technologies.

With the DSVC, manufacturers will be able to collectively make agile pivots to handle demand changes, increasing competitiveness and resilience of value chain partners in Singapore and beyond.

Model Factory at SIMTech

Model Factory, set up by A*STAR's Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), allows companies to learn, experiment and co-create new technologies for factories of the future where automation, and total shopfloor visibility and control are key.

The Model Factory has been upgraded for the co-innovation of Industry 5.0 capabilities and technologies with our local enterprises.

Autonomous manufacturing systems are able to sense and understand, think and make decisions, as well as adapt and respond with appropriate actions without human intervention. Watch the video below to find out more:
