Dr. Chit Siong Aaron Lau is a Director at the A*STAR Quantum Innovation Centre (Q.InC) and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He is an experimentalist whose research interests include quantum transport, low-dimensional quantum materials, and quantum-compatible nanofabrication.

Aaron completed his BSc in Physics at NUS, graduating with First Class Honours in 2012. He received the A*STAR Graduate Scholarship, and after completing a one-year research attachment at IMRE A*STAR, began his PhD at the University of Oxford in 2013. He earned his PhD in Materials in 2017 while studying quantum transport in single-molecule electronics and was awarded the Hetherington Prize for Best DPhil Presentation.

Aaron returned to A*STAR Singapore in 2017, where he started working on building quantum devices in emerging low-dimensional material systems. He was recognized for his research excellence and contributions through awards such as the IMRE Best Paper Awards and Outstanding Reviewer MCF. He has received multiple grants, including the Career Development Award, MTC Young Individual Research Grant, and MTC Individual Research Grant. In 2025, he was awarded the National Research Foundation Competitive Research Programme Frontier (NRF CRP Frontier), which seeks to pursue innovative use-inspired research that can enable paradigm shifts and breakthroughs in scientific knowledge.

Passionate about scientific communication, Aaron serves as an A*STAR ambassador, engaging in initiatives like Scientist-In-Schools to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
