A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*STAR SRL) is Singapore’s research institute for skin research under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). We drive high-value, interdisciplinary research that translates into tangible outcomes for human health, clinical practice and partner with industry to innovate, with a strong focus on Asian relevant skin biology.

Our mission is clear: To bridge discovery to impact by generating breakthrough knowledge and technologies that address unmet needs in dermatology and skin health.

We operate as an integral part of Singapore’s biomedical innovation ecosystem, with strong institutional partnerships that span academia, healthcare and industry. As a founding member of the Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS) — a tripartite collaboration with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and NHG Health (NHG). We catalyze multi-disciplinary efforts to solve clinically relevant challenges in dermatology and skin health. Our research drives the development of novel therapeutics, diagnostics and medical technologies with clear pathways to clinical translation and commercial adoption.
