Job Responsibilities:
- Build world-class capabilities and excellence in Resilient and Sustainable AI to be recognised by international research communities
- Work with AI scientists in A*STAR IHPC to develop resilient and sustainable AI algorithms and
solve challenging real-world problems, and publish high-impact papers to advance science - Execute programmes to ensure timely delivery of project milestones with high-quality
outcomes
Requirements:
- PhD degree in Computer Science/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Research experience in one or more areas of AI, such as Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing
- Strong track record of research in AI (e.g. 500+ citations from publications in related conferences like ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, IJCAI, AAAI, KDD, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, or journals such as JMLR, AIJ, MLJ, IJCV, IEEE Transactions and ACM Transactions)
- Knowledge in one of the AI programming frameworks, e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX;
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Best paper or equivalent awards in the top conferences or Winner of international
Scientist (Computer Vision for human action understanding using neural symbolic integration)
We seek an exceptional Computer Vision/Machine Learning Scientist to expand our dynamic and multi-disciplinary AI team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Background in Computer Vision and Machine learning to work on human action understanding using neurosymbolic AI approaches
Requirements:
- PhD degree in Computer Vision or Machine Learning (or related discipline) with a strong record of accomplishment in CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI or journal papers in IEEE TPAMI, IJCV, JMLR, Pattern Recognition, IEEE TIP and related. PhDs with a record of accomplishment of the above-mentioned are encouraged to apply
- Background in scene graph generation, action recognition, relational learning, inductive logic programming, causal learning, and neural symbolic integration is highly advantageous
- Strong programming skills in python (Pytorch, Tensorflow)
- Excellent computer vision and machine learning skills are required
- Excellent problem solving skills
Scientist
We seek candidate to drive the development of AI models in the context of Scientific Machine Learning. The focus is on innovating ways to bring physics-based knowledge into the improvement and understanding of statistical learning for real-world problems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Development of AI/ML models for the modelling of multi-scale, multi-physics problems for purposes such as design and scientific discovery
- Development of foundational methodologies for incorporating knowledge such as fundamental laws of physics into AI/ML models. This can be incorporated in different ways, including for uncertainty quantification, enabling effective learning with less data and meta-modelling
- Working with domain experts (e.g. in fluid dynamics) to better understand problems and acquire context for the advancement of physics-informed learning
- Collaboration with other partners such as other research institutes, academic partners and other relevant stakeholders
Requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
- Having some background in engineering (i.e., fluid dynamics), numerical methods (e.g. finite volume or finite element methods) and/or statistical learning (i.e., deep learning)
- Strong skills in multi-language programming (i.e., Python) and can work independently in modeling, algorithm design and coding implementation
- Experience in customizing open-source programs
- Good interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small, agile team, resourceful and self-driven
- Good command of written and spoken communication skill
Early Career Investigatorship (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning)
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the duties of this position with a dynamic and creative approach, in particular to:
Job Responsibilities:
- Publish impact scientific results of his or her research in top tier AI and machine learning domain, such as AAAI, IJCAI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, KDD, CVPR, ACL etc.
- Secure research grants to develop cutting-edge AI technologies and to train highly qualified personnel through research work
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
- Carry out innovative research projects
- Collaborate with other research teams within A*STAR and other universities
- Participate in professional, academic and societal service functions; and
- Contribute to the influence of A*STAR in Singapore and internationally
Requirements:
- Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, and Data Science fields
- Hold a solid record of research accomplishment showing their potential to develop and lead an independent research program, allowing them to obtain research financing in order to support graduate students
- Contribute positively to the A*STAR’s research atmosphere and to adhere to its values of excellence, creativity, integrity, collaboration, respect and openness
